Some of the most exciting sailing is on Biscayne Bay,
located in Miami Florida. What will you learn and
accomplish? Sailing
lessons are offered on an individual basis or a maximum
of two students at the same time. We offer a two hour sailing class
for beginners who either want to learn how to casual sail or just
to see if they enjoy the sport. You are taught the basics of sailing.
This includes elementary wind and weather theory. You assist us in
setting up the Sail boat including the sail rigging. Before launching
you will first assist in a walk around safety inspection. We teach
you to handle the jib sail and basic tacking maneuvers. In hour two,
weather permitting, you will be allowed to take the helm and taught
how to properly tack into the wind, make a proper turn, and tack back
to your starting point. We will also show you how to sail to all points
of wind, how to stop the vessel even though it is windy . As you practice
what you have learned, we provide encouragement, critiques, and corrections.
You will not be asked or expected take the helm should wind conditions
be such that only an experienced sailor can handle the craft.
